Paul Smith, the director and principal consultant of Waste Solutions Australia, is a well-respected member of the environmental management industry. With more than 30 years' experience, Paul ensures our clients benefit from a wealth of scientific knowledge applied specifically to their individual project needs. Paul is qualified as a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) with the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ), and is a senior adjunct lecturer at Griffith University. Whilst continuing to develop his own professional skills through industry conferences and literature, Paul also plays an active role as mentor to the consulting team at WSA.
Aidan Marsh is a senior environmental scientist and WSA’s landfill gas (LFG) specialist. With more than 17 years’ LFG project experience, Aidan is well-positioned to consult on your landfill projects. Complimenting his consultancy experience is Aidan’s operational and engineering background that comes from designing, commissioning and operating numerous LFG systems for migration control and utilisation. Aidan has extensive experience in LFG risk assessment, investigations, management and aftercare from more than 100 sites in Australia, USA, UK and France. Aidan employs innovative methodologies to reach the most suitable and sustainable solutions for his clients.
Adam King is a senior consultant specialising in hydrogeology and works alongside director Paul Smith on complex groundwater projects. Adam has more than 10 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist including the last four years spent earning a PhD which he is due to complete this month. Adam specialises in the use of hydrochemistry and environmental isotopes to investigate recharge and mixing in complex hydrogeological environments. Having spent several years in consultancies Adam is familiar with project-based work. He has established project management skills that are underwritten by a solid, academic understanding of the industry’s best practices and latest innovations.
WSA’s consultants are a multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified professionals with a wide variety of experience. Their specialised training in environmental site assessments, remediation strategies and reporting is applied to the most challenging business and environmental issues encountered by our clients. As WSA believes in a learning work environment, all WSA consultants are actively involved in industry associations and committees and regularly attend seminars and training courses to ensure they are informed of any new developments, studies or scientific equipment in the industry that may provide an advantage to WSA’s clients.
Our consulting staff are backed by strong Consultant Support, Business Management & Administration teams. WSA also employs Environmental Science undergraduates to support the consulting team and assist the students in gaining real industry experience.
